Saying Goodbye to BC

I spent the day driving back to Michigan. It took a little longer than expected as I ran into a few traffic issues and yet another freak snowstorm! The drive gave me lots of time to think about the purpose of this particular trip: packing up my house in Michigan. It isn't sold--YET--but Niels' house needs the furniture, so off I went. It's bittersweet. I've lived in this house for six years--some of the best, and some of hardest--of my life. I wrote my book here. But...I'm very grateful that I'm not leaving for the unknown. I've packing up the chapter on singleness and moving into marriage.

When I arrived at my house tonight, I was pleased to get online using my neighbor's internet. As I read the news today, I was sad to read of the passing of Johnny Hart, creator of the comic, B.C. Growing up, B.C. was my stepdad's favorite comic. I didn't start reading it until I was an adult, as a new Christian, when I learned that Johnny was a Christian and often used his comic to offer a fresh look at his faith.
Johnny passed away at his desk yesterday, Easter Sunday. To appreciate this creative man's life, enjoy his last Sunday comic.
